Artists interpretation of a wetland with blue sky peeking above. Fresh colors, varied textures, a sense of the surreally colored marsh surrounding the genteel flowers and leaves. This was painted by hand on a blank digital canvas using a variety of brushes any vivid palette.
After a childhood consumed by dedicated doodling, Suki studied drawing and painting at Kansas City Art Institute, earning a BFA. After graduating, she traveled the world to study Transcendental Meditation and taught the technique for years. Suki also enjoys a creative outlet in the literary arts. In 2014, she won First Place in the Women on Writing Flash Fiction Competition. In 2016, she won First Place in the Faulkner Literary Competition, Poetry Division. She works impulsively with underlying intent - throwing down colors and shapes then conferring with them to see what they want. Is it contrast, harmony, a statement, something absurd?
