An explosion of color in blossom shapes. The semi abstract depiction of summer glory hopefully reminds the viewer in the dead of winter that a brilliant display will always be just around the corner. Image was created to accommodate a rather large canvas. The artist has it hanging over her couch in the size of 16 x 16”, a 2 inch mattt, and a large square frame.
After a childhood consumed by dedicated doodling, Suki studied drawing and painting at Kansas City Art Institute, earning a BFA. After graduating, she traveled the world to study Transcendental Meditation and taught the technique for years. Suki also enjoys a creative outlet in the literary arts. In 2014, she won First Place in the Women on Writing Flash Fiction Competition. In 2016, she won First Place in the Faulkner Literary Competition, Poetry Division. She works impulsively with underlying intent - throwing down colors and shapes then conferring with them to see what they want. Is it contrast, harmony, a statement, something absurd?
