Artist's Description

The colors carry the tune. This image is intended to convey confidence and optimism, but viewer response matters more. It started out as a photograph of leaves which was overpainted by hand. As the painting continued, the colors and shapes asserted their dominance. The photo became less relevant and was eventually deleted. That is the joy of digital art. While it employs the same skill sets as traditional media, color, form, composition, for this artist, it offers complete freedom of expression. Enjoy the vividness of life!

Suki Michelle

After a childhood consumed by dedicated doodling, Suki studied drawing and painting at Kansas City Art Institute, earning a BFA. After graduating, she traveled the world to study Transcendental Meditation and taught the technique for years. Suki also enjoys a creative outlet in the literary arts. In 2014, she won First Place in the Women on Writing Flash Fiction Competition. In 2016, she won First Place in the Faulkner Literary Competition, Poetry Division. She works impulsively with underlying intent - throwing down colors and shapes then conferring with them to see what they want. Is it contrast, harmony, a statement, something absurd? Maybe sheโ€™s just expressing an emotion. At times, she abandons it all, only to return and...
